      Executive Assistant Interview

      Anonymous employee
      San Mateo, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Roblox (San Mateo, CA) in Apr 2018

      Interview

Started with a phone call from the recruiter. I went in for two in-person interviews following that. Everyone involved in the process was very kind and very professional. One of the best interview experiences I've ever had!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about yourself and your background. Walk me through how you would design an event for 100 people and $30,000 budget.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Roblox (Redwood City, CA) in Feb 2023

      Interview

Ridiculous. I do not know who hired this woman or how she remained employed but she was ridiculous. Our interview was for 30 minutes. She spent the entire time telling me about the company, essentially reading off the information from the website. She was all over the place. And at the end with three minutes to go she asked me if I had any questions. I said yes and started to ask one when she cut me off because she forgot to tell me something the timeline for the hiring process. She did not ask me one single question. I waited a week and followed up with her only to get a super short response that they went with another candidate. She completely wasted my time and I felt like I did not honestly get a chance to interview even thought they reached out to interview me. So weird.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There literally were none. She did not ask me a single question other than "Do you have any questions?"

      San Mateo, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Roblox (San Mateo, CA) in Apr 2022

      Interview

The process was not smooth & took months. A half hour panel here, then a week later, another half panel there. Feedback is minimal & when I finally got to the final panel, it was a panel that took 2.5 hours. I met with about 5 different people just in that panel alone. Was told that they would have a decision for me next week. Got a very strange "rejection" letter of we loved you, the feedback was great from everyone across the board but this particular role might not be the right fit, contact us in the new year when we have new rolls. umm ok. I did so and was told "we will reach out to you when the right fit comes along" I finally reached out to the head contact and asked her for feedback as I have never experienced this before. She met with me and we had a good conversation about how the company has a lot of restructuring and reorganizing within that they are doing but they really liked me and can see me as a asset to their company. She reached out to me again a few weeks later to interview for another department. Another 2.5 hours later and she synced up with me to let me know that AGAIN, they didn't feel that this was the right fit for me and that if I agreed to it, they would reach out to me again when something else came along. I was so surprised & confused that I agreed verbally, but afterwards when I had more time to think about it, i realized that they were stringing me along. This was completely disrespectful of my time & my skills and I don't know what the end game was for them but I sent the contact a note letting her know that I had lost faith in their process and in their company and that I was withdrawing my application. Beware if you apply here - it seems they are quite unsure what exactly they want or you need to check some elusive magic box that they have.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why are you looking? How do your skills apply to the position? How would you handle conflict? How do you work with your fellow team members in this situation XXX?

Thank you for the feedback. Sometimes when we find a very impressive candidate who doesn’t fit specifically to the role they’ve applied to, we will try to find another role that would be a better fit. Unfortunately that role simply might not exist, or it might not be available soon enough to present to that candidate. We’re sorry we were unable to find the right match for you, and no disrespect was meant to your time and abilities.

      Foster City, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Roblox (Foster City, CA) in Nov 2020

      Interview

      1) Prelim phone screen 2) Sign NDA 3) Case Study - Writing sample 4) Roblox orientation - a walk through of the company history 5) Interview with 3 Top level EAs + Group interview: Front Desk Ambassador, Office Manager, + 2 more EA', wrap up with internal recruiter A conservative estimate of what this process took me in terms of time was 1.5 working days.  I didn't get the job but for months afterwards I was getting calls from different recruiters about this same position. That tells me that this position was open for a long time, a lot of people went through this process, & they were extremely particular about who they hired.  My feedback to them is, given your loooooong interview process, you are being inefficient with your time and other people's time.  Just get a temp to perm in the door.  That's the best way to determine "fit" without a long term commitment.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I interviewed with approximately 10 people. Too many questions to remember but just brush up on your standard ones. Q: Tell me about yourself Q: How do you deal with difficult personalities Q: What is your biggest weakness
