I applied online. I interviewed at Roku in May 2026
Interview
Progressed through initial call, technical assessment and hiring manager interview. The next stage was 4 calls with different people who all asked the same questions. I did 7 interviews 4+ hours in total interview time not including preparation. Spoke with 6 different people some more than once. Got a single line automated rejection email. I asked for an explanation and feedback as to why they went with someone else. They said they would provide but weeks later and nothing. This role was to be based in the UK but not a single one of the 6 people I spoke to was from the UK. Strange. What are their hiring policies?

Question 1
A lot of questions about A/B testing and no ML. Which I am not sure a senior data scientist would want stop all ML so why would they advertise this job as Data Science?
Incompetent recruiting. Very slow to reschedule and was ghosted after being told I was being moved to the final rounds. Unprofessional and not respectful of candidates' time. Appear to post ghost jobs as well.
Do not recommend, got ghosted after 7 interview rounds. They do 7 interview rounds because they claim they are a 'big tech' company, but some steps are duplicated, you get 2 SQL live coding and 2 hiring manager interviews. They don't seem very well organised, especially on the recruiters side. The 8 hour time difference between the UK and where the team manager is located almost surely means working in the evenings.
