Overall great experience. Depending on who you are with, it may or may not be more of a “conversational” interview, which I prefer.
The initial phone interview and then 1:1 with the marketing director were great. He was a nice guy and they care a lot about how you will fit into their culture. I felt like I was able to explain myself pretty well and show off some portfolio work while answering questions.
The second half of the third interview was with the CMO. He was also a nice guy, but very talkative. I barely got a word in during the hour I was with him. The executive offices look like they spent too much on them, super flashy.
I also got a much stronger “summer sales” vibe from this part of the interview coming from him. I felt like I was being recruited to go to Kentucky next summer and he was amping me up for it. I felt like I was supposed to decide right now if I was going to give my whole life to edge or not. He kept telling me how successful I would be if I stuck around for the long haul and dove into the Edge culture. I’m sure this is all true and I don’t think this is a bad thing as it’s their culture to interview this way and it’s made them successful, but the culture didn’t jive with my personality. I felt like I was being over sold on the Company and looked elsewhere.
