      Corporate Office Interview

      Aug 1, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Sally Beauty

      Interview

Let me preface by saying both of this interviews occurred while I was employed elsewhere, and was not looking to change jobs without an "offer I couldn't refuse" type of scenario. Not posting the specific title because this experience was for two different roles, about 1 year apart. In both instances I was approached by a recruiter via LinkedIn. Interview 1: Process moved relatively fast at first, and I was constantly encouraged by the recruiter's quick replies and positivity. She made me feel as though my time was valued and that I was being seriously considered by the organization. First phone screen with recruiter was standard and easy. Next up was the dept VP, who said they did the first interview as a culture and team fit screen. No harm there and it was also a good conversation, after that I was to interview with the hiring Manager. Hiring manager interview was ok, nothing unexpected but it felt as though the entire tone of the process shifted here. Post interview, I did not receive immediate feedback from anyone. It took multiple follow ups over the course of 3-4 weeks before the recruiter was finally able to get a response from the team, and I was not extended an offer. Interview 2: Similar to #1, things moved very fast at first and I was told many of the same things I was the first time around wanting to fill the role quickly, etc. Phone screen went great, and I was supposed to be scheduled with the hiring manager the following week. 2 min before the interview was scheduled to begin the hiring manager informed the recruiter she could not do the interview and they would have to reschedule. I rescheduled for the following Monday. The hiring manager was late to the interview, and spent the first 10 min of our 30 talking about the role. She asked me 1 (one) question, I was also able to ask 1 (one) question before the interview ended. Post interview I was told to expect feedback by the end of the week. Never heard anything. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? Shame on me. After not hearing anything for one week I contacted the recruiter and withdrew from the process. I will likely not accept any future interview requests from Sally, they've only wasted my time thus far.
