The whole process was a little long, I think I applied in late February/ early March, got an email maybe a month later inviting me to interview after I thought my application was just overlooked. The interview was great, my chief scribe is super nice, we met at a Starbucks. I felt silly for calling her Ms. So&So in my emails because I didn't realize how young all scribes including chief scribes are. I brought my resume that included all relevant classes, GPA, major, and past work history, along with my recorded WPM. Basically I was hired on the spot after she said I was beyond qualified, I think she liked my general demeanor as well though, she was just as cheery and pleasant! I felt overdressed in sandals, a work-casual dress, and sweater. The interview was more of an overview of the job as opposed to what made me a good applicant. All and all it was a nice interview, nice conversation!
After that there was a drug test, tb test, background check, review of my shot records along with a flue shot. My hospital required a 2 day, paid orientation, along with 6 major training sessions.
