I was contacted a few weeks after I applied via an advert. Interestingly, press releases indicated that Seagate was closing down their plant in Havant so was a little wary to be honest.
I was contacted by phone initially for a chat with HR. This was fine. I mentioned my concerns which were mostly allayed. I was then contacted again for a chat with the IT Manager. Again this went relatively well. I then attended an interview at their office. It was pretty informal and went generally ok. However, when I asked who I would be reporting to, I was told that it would be the IT Manager (who interviewed me) until June when he was leaving due to redundancy. I then asked who would I then report to. He told me it would me Mr..., but that he would be leaving in September. After that it would be their US office. Erm... ok... I thought.
All I can say is that it was surreal. I wasn't sure about it to be honest. I was also told that there was a serious mis management of the company in the past.
I haven't heard anything for 6 weeks. No response to my voice mail and no response to my email either. So all in all not very impressed and a wast of time on my part. I think I should have trusted my intuition at the start.
