      Sales Interview

      Mar 3, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Seamless in Feb 2023

      Interview

Had the initial call with a Recruiter. I was told I would receive materials and would have to do a "pitch" with the VP. I studied for days and was told "you don't have to be an expert", "we want to see if you are coachable". They send you 11 pages of information and a video which is an employee doing a discovery call. I memorized the pitch and watched the video more than several times. Apparently, if you don't do the pitch exactly like the CRO does after MANY YEARS of training, you are not good enough. Management has a very cocky attitude which is not attractive! Basically, you are spending time studying for an interview to never get hired. When it was time to do my pitch and I was told I was "doing too much of a demo of the PRODUCT". Most would be impressed that you know how to actually demo the product with NO training. Seems to me, presenting a product is what a sales professional is trained to do but I could be wrong.. After the pitch, I was told they wanted to "condense" the pitch as they realized it was too much ( 11 pages, you think?!) and said they would send me another pitch and wanted me to do this again for the Director. No email, NOTHING! I received an email days later that was automated stating they decided to move forward with other candidates. Took the cowards way out and can't email you personally. I am glad I recorded my presentation to replay and see how much they lie and all the negative reviews I've seen really following my interviews really do match up to my experience with Management! Candidates BEWARE! Apply to other companies and don't waste your time for such a low salary and sweatshop! THIS IS AN ENTRY LEVEL position and they treat it like it's an EXECUTIVE ROLE! Putting the truth out there for potential candidates to know this beforehand and to not waste time prepping for their presentation.

We regret that you did not have a better experience with us during your interviewing process. Having sales leaders with tenured expertise facilitate interviews with candidates is crucial to ensure we hire individuals with the experience and coachability we seek for our company's mission. We are glad that upon your feedback, the pitch material was condensed to allow for a more efficient and effective preparation moving forward. Feedback like yours allows us to improve our interviewing process and provide a better experience for candidates moving forward. Again, we regret that this wasn't the case for you, but we do wish and hope for all the success in your future endeavors!
