I applied for a Recruitment Specialist position through Indeed one day. I then received a call on that same day from their Senior HR Recruiter who wanted to schedule an interview for the very next business day. Even though it was extremely short notice, I didn't want to harm my chances of being considered, so I accepted an interview for the next afternoon.
However, upon arriving 10 minutes early for the interview at the Securitas location in Oakland, I immediately noticed significant dysfunction. Numerous people were there for interviews for security roles, and the office staff looked swamped. Everyone looked stressed. I politely notified the Receptionist that my interview was in 10 minutes for the Recruitment Specialist role with their HR Manager.
However, I had to wait in their lobby for 30 minutes until someone finally addressed me. I was then told that I couldn't interview for the position because I hadn't applied directly on their website, as I had submitted my information on Indeed. I would have to wait at least another 30 minutes if not longer.
Exasperated by the circumstances, I notified the Receptionist that I was just going to leave. This was the most unprofessional interview experience I've ever had. Securitas looks to have gotten too big for their own good, so don't depend on them for your only job pursuits. Their Bay Area locations in general are extremely unorganized, so you should be very careful before applying for any of their open jobs.
