I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sentry (Goldsboro, NC) in Sep 2010
Interview
Was contact by recruiter two days after applying for the position. Immediately, a phone interview was conducted which was fairly simple (Why are you wanting to join the insurance field, what do you currently do, etc.). Was then scheduled for a 2:1 interview (two managers conduct the interview together) which lasted for one hour. Questions asked were all situational questions, such as "Describe a situation where a customer made you upset and how did you handle it?" and "Tell me what skills you have that you can apply to the position you are applying for?" The interview was fairly laid back as the managers were very informative and upfront on what the position requires. The building and rooms were very organized and the employees and management seemed very professional, in my opinion. However, the interview process was easier than I was expecting.

Interview
Interviewers reflected what I think may be the culture and vibe of the company. First had a positive, quick phone screen with a recruiter. Then a video interview with two unpleasant older women who were blunt, awkward, and nearly accusing me of being incapable of performing the job before I even got my foot in the door. This was less of an interview and more of an elimination session. You take calls, you give people need that may upset them, you deescalate, you record data. I’d recommend training your interviewers how to emphasize complexity and nature of the role without shooting down potential candidates.
I would also emphasize not ghosting candidates whom you informed you will get back to with a decision. In this job market, such behavior is filthy.

Question 1
Repeatedly asked me how well I would perform in a stressful environment, which is a red flag in itself
After submitting my application it was about a week till I was called for a phone interview. It was easy to book online, the interviewer was courteous and professional. The response to set up an in person interview was sent via email within 24 hours.
I felt comfortable and it was a great interview. It was also very professional and they make sure to get the right people in for the job that is applied for.
