Had an initial interview with a recruiter. About a day later I was asked to complete a copy test and a day after that I was asked to come in for an interview later that week. The process moved pretty quickly. The hiring manager who interviewed me was definitely NOT prepared for the interview which was upsetting since I made the drive all the way up there. She asked me maybe 2-3 questions and didn't know what else to say. She was super frazzled...maybe she forgot she was interviewing me that day? No clue, but I had to ask her a ton of questions to fill in the time. I don't feel like I got to really have a good shot of showing my best self because I wasn't asked anything! A week later the recruiter told me they passed because my edit test "wasn't up to par with what they're looking for." 1) My edit test was pretty awesome, I studied all of Sephora's emails prior to completing it so I know it was the right voice and tone, 2) WHY would you bring me in for an interview AFTER you saw my edit test if my edit test wasn't up to par? Super strange. And their office is old and dark with cubicles. Definitely not what I expected from a sleek and super editorial brand like Sephora.
