I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sephora (Los Angeles, CA) in Dec 2017
Interview
I went in to the Beverley Hills location for an interview with the hiring manager and the lead color consultant. They were super friendly and made me feel at ease. They asked about my experience, and were surprisingly open to my self-taught background. The main part of the interview was they showed me a picture of a full face of makeup and had me go over what the components of the look were, what I liked, and what I would have done differently.
Friendly, lots of question and hypothetical situations in regards to customer service. Makeup portfolio was appreciated. Focus is on product knowledge and friendliness. Asked about retail background, what trainings I would be interested in. Also how hard I am willing to work to move up into a management position. Also my timeline I expect to management.
