Interview
Applied online. Recruiter reached out to me and told me I could work the role remote, the manager said it was fine. Interviewed with the Lead in the role. His attitude during the interview was nasty and very belittling. His intentions was to focus on what I didn't know. My accomplishments he made them seem as if they werent good enough. He ask me would I be relocating and I am not sure why he ask when the manager already said I could be remote. The Lead doing the interview was a complete asswhole. I am a black woman in tech with my Masters and he honestly seemed intimated and offended I did not fit the sterotype people have of tech. He also ackwledge the fact that on my resume I volunteered with Black Girl Code, he mention it in passing to basically let me know that he knew I was black because he never ask me " oh what did you do at Black Girl Code, or thats great, or that seems to be interesting". His attitude was nasty. He also ended the interview very unprofessional and dry an short. That same day the recuriter email me back saying they were going with other canidates who were in the actual San Diego area. That was a lie, how did they go from saying I could be remote (manager approval), to the the guy in the interview questioning it ( who is just a Sr role). Then ultimately to say thats why I didnt get the job.The guy interviewing me just did not like me and it had nothing to do with my experice and education. I will just be honest Tech companies are still very racist. They are intimidated by people of color in the tech field and especially a woman. ServiceNow needs to do better.
