I applied online. I interviewed at Shiftsmart (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2020
Interview
To start with I was sent a test to analyze user data and draw conclusions. Wasn't too hard, just required basic excel skills. After that the HR team set up a call to review my findings with the head of product.

Question 1
No surprises here, just things like why do you want to work here, what is your background, how comfortable are you with data and a fast-paced environment.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shiftsmart (New York, NY) in Jun 2025
Interview
First round interview, remote, 30 minutes long. Friendly, somewhat casual. No technical questions or "tell me a time you exhibited X" type questions. Largely just asked me about what questions I had about the role or the company culture.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Shiftsmart in Mar 2025
Interview
Had a call with the recruiter then met with the hiring manager. Was assigned a case then scheduled for a case review with the hiring manager - they did not show up to the first meeting which was rescheduled only for them to not show up again. I was finally able to present the case but the interviewer showed up 10 minutes late, did not seem to be paying attention and ended the call after 15 minutes. Unfortunately the overall experience was poor and I wouldn’t recommend to other candidates.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Shiftsmart in Sep 2024
Interview
Call with the recruiter went great, everything you would expect. Upon relaying my enthusiasm about the role and relevant experience, the recruiter said that the HM would be incredibly excited to meet me.
Incorrect. The director took the interview in a public Starbucks, where I could barely hear a word of what he said. He was also incredibly disinterested and asked barebones questions. He could've asked me how the weather was, and it would've been a better question than what he had prepared.
