Easy to apply. They send you a shirt before they employ you. Waste of money if you don't get the job. Then ask you to send the shirt back or enjoy it.

Question 1
They just want you to be spotless. No blimish on your history period. I have spotless drivers record. In my 20s had a simple offense something like graffiti and they held that against me. They wanted me to explain the situation or send documents showing how you've turn your life around.
Basically there was no vetting process to get hired. You sign up on the app and then they approve you. No fuss or extra stuff, or staff, to do anything for them.
