I applied for one of their Senior Analyst positions online, and a recruiter got back to me within a few days, asking for additional information. Once I filled that out, we set up an initial phone screen later that week. The phone screen lasted less than 5 minutes, in which the recruiter asked me which position I was applying for, along with a couple additional questions about software I've used. She moved me onto the next round which was a take home analytics project.
The take home project was a bit time consuming, but it was constructed very well, and I felt it was a fair assessment of what a senior analyst for this particular team should be expected to do, from data mining/manipulation, to telling stories through charts and graphs, to thinking through how to solve complex business problems. I spent a bit of time on this and sent my assessment back to the recruiter.
After not hearing back for over a week, I e-mailed the recruiter asking if the team had gotten around to reviewing my project yet. The recruiter replied back letting me know the position had been closed, however there was an opening for another senior analyst position within another department. She asked if I would be interested in that, and after I said yes, she said they would schedule me within that week for the final round of interviews for that position (I didn't need to start from scratch because I already did the take home project).
After not hearing from anyone for a few days, I reached out to the recruiter letting her know I had not heard from anyone yet regarding that final round interview. She never responded to me, and no one from the department I was supposed to interview for reached out for me.
Needless to say, between the time I spent on an assignment for a position that I was never notified wasn't available, to being told I was being moved on to a final round interview and then never heard from them again, it was a pretty terrible experience. It's a bummer because Shipt is one of the best home delivery grocery services, and I had been using their services during the Stay at Home order throughout the Pandemic. I can't see myself wanting to support their services after this experience.
