Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Siemens (Issaquah, WA) in Jun 2014
Interview
Formal but not in a negative way. Still had a few moments of laughing and being relaxed. The interviewers were very professional. I actually had a good time with this interview, unlike a couple others that I had prior to this one where it was quite obvious from the beginning that I wasn't what they wanted at that company. In this interview it was very apparent that I was being seriously considered based on my resume and that the interview was (in my opinion anyway) what an interview is supposed to be, the verification that the person behind the resume is genuine and a good fit.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
About 50% of the interview was technical in nature. The rest was the "personality test" with the questions. For example "where do I want to be in 5 years?", "if money was no object what would I do with my life?" things like that.
Interviewed at Career Fair, was a direct recruit/hire out of school. First interview team was two people, second Interview team was extensive (5 team members), and the questions were thorough about your engineering understanding of systems. Overall was nerve-wracking but the interviewers were nice.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Siemens (Washington, DC)
Interview
I went to a staffing agency event with a recruiting company. They had two mangers there screening applicants and taking resumes. Two weeks later I was called for a phone interview followed by an in person interview a couple days later. I was offered the job on the spot and started after the background check came back.
