After four interviews there was no follow up. It was very unorganized. The initial 2 interviews were ok. The first was about 5 minutes to get some basic information. The second interview was with a director that asked a dozen different t ways “what would you like to do in 5 years?” He was really inspiring to speak with and I think he might have a good vision for the company. However, the interview felt very drawn out from answering the same question so many times. He also suggested I would be a great fit for 6 or so positions. This kicked off two more unorganized and bizarre interviews.
The second two interviewers were unsure of the position I was interviewing for. One was especially uncomfortable where the interviewer required I had my camera on while they did not put theirs on. The questions felt condescending in tone and too vague to answer properly.
It’s very clear that the tech department knows nothing of the product their company is known for. Not a single interviewer discussed my past in the jewelry industry but only wanted to know about my last job in tech. The few remarks they made about the product were incorrect information about gems which makes me question how someone can properly organize data if they don’t know what they are looking at.
In the end I am glad I didn’t receive an offer, but it’s really unprofessional to not respond after someone has set aside that much time for your company. I hope in this round of hiring they find a group of people that help to sculpt their culture to be more inclusive!
