I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sinclair Broadcast Group
Interview
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND to anyone looking to break into a career in broadcast. Find a company that understands what year it is and isn't stuck in the old-fashioned newsroom mentality. And a heads up for you free spirits, if you're applying for any SBG job, they do a pre-employment drug test. Legal or not, you'll have to be 100% clean of any drugs, even weed. The interview was good at first, I met with a local team focused on fun local stories. All positive people who had a positive view of the show. Then it became clear the top-down mentality clearly drives any Sinclair product. They had to wait and fight for things, couldn't give any guarantees as the suits apparently make any final decisions. Took weeks to get answers to questions, didn't actually answer my concerns and were in the middle of switching to an older editing program.

Question 1
Explain the process you go through when making a video/segment
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sinclair Broadcast Group (South Florida, FL) in Sep 2016
Interview
Formal sit-down interview, followed by tour, then hands-on test with editing software. Came in to do this twice, and went very well both times. The whole thing was a truly great interview process. I felt comfortable and knew I'd be very comfortable in this environment.
