I was contacted by an external recruiter and set up with a phone screen (via Teams). The phone screen went well, the questions were relevant and required deep knowledge. The interviewer explained more about the role, and I was excited to move forward. The next round of 3 interviews was scheduled for a full-day. The first interview of the next round was with with two mid-level engineers, but one of them was a no-show (red flag). The interview question was somewhat easy. The second interview was with two senior engineers. One of the engineers forgot and had to be summoned to join. We got started once the second engineer joined. We were all using our laptops since this was a Teams interview. Both the Sinclair engineers were talking over IM and working during the interview - it was very unprofessional. The interviewers did not ask a single technical question, and spent nearly the entire hour explaining what the role was and how the previous person had executed the job. It wasn't so much an interview of me as much as an explanation of what would be expected of me. I barely spoke during the interview. I was stunned to learn that the position they were hiring for was not at all what the recruiter or phone screen interviewer had described. Finally, the third interview was supposed to be with HR, but the recruiter called be 2 minutes before the start time to cancel it. This was a very unprofessional interview process.
