I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Skillz (San Francisco, CA) in May 2017
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn, contacted for a phone interview and then invited for an on-site interview. My on-site interview started with a 3 part writing test that I had an hour to complete. It wasn't too hard since I was familiar with the different types of PR writing styles such as press releases, social media posts and pitching. Then I met with another recruiter for a personality assessment that included questions about my hobbies and what super powers I wish I had. Next I met with the Communication Director and the CMO. My interview lasted about 4 hours, but it fairly standard in what questions were asked.
A team member reached out to me on LinkedIn about this internship. The interview process was casual but the "assessment" was super intense and high pressure. I felt like it went really well but I was informed that I did not get the internship through a completely generic no-reply email, which felt super cold.
