The process was very simply. They have an open interview at select cities. The only requirement was to apply online in order to attend. When you arrive, you sign in, give them a copy of your resume and they check your height.
First phase: is an introduction where they basically read to you all the info listed on their website about the company and job itself. Followed by a brief Q/A Then if you are unable to attend training, fulfill all the requirements or meet all obligations, they asked you not to return. They were filling for training in Feb 2016 and bases like MSP, ORD, SLC.
The staff from SkyWest were fun, energetic, informative.
Second Phase: which started 15 mins later. Everyone went up in front of the group and introduced themselves. You were asked why you would be a good FA for Skywest. Not to exceed 60 seconds. After that was done they took another break 45 minutes.
Third Phase: they posted a list of names as to who was to stay on for interviews.
They only consistency I noticed in who was called back was a young age and slender. 20 somethings. Present were mostly 35-50 yo women, some current FAs, a few former, a handful of airline employees. I was very surprised at who was called back. I felt some exceptional candidates I had met were overlooked. None of the interview candidates chosen blew me away with their introductions. Most short, garbled, random unrehearsed remarks. Not even all that personable or confidant.
