      Senior Consultant Interview

      Jul 24, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Saint Louis, MO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (Saint Louis, MO) in Feb 2018

      Interview

Started with the recruiter contacting me on LinkedIn so I met with him. They have a lot of random job titles so it's hard to keep track of the exact titles but I believe I met with the practice lead. He didn't really ask me any technical questions but more of a chat. He warned me that the process from meeting the recruiter until a job offer takes weeks due to meeting with several different people. The next person was new to this office but had been working for another location so he had enough time to make it a somewhat formal interview. He did a whiteboard scenario and asked me several process related questions. A week or so went by before I heard back from the recruiter and then he set up a time for the following week to meet with another guy. He was very unfriendly and was tapping his feet and fidgety the whole time. I could tell he'd rather be anywhere in the world than meeting with me. After that interview I get a notification from the recruiter that they were looking for someone with more Big Data experience. Well if the recruiter had taken a closer look at my resume he could have saved everyone including the angry fidgety guy a lot of time by never contacting me. I know of someone else who has been interviewing with this place for 4 months. I don't know how anyone would take a job from these people after the constant meet someone, then wait a week, then meet another person and wait a week and so on. It's a ridiculously frustrating process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Well they kept telling me it's not a formal interview "just a discussion." The guy with the whiteboard discussion asked me question about the various phases within a client engagement.

      Application

I interviewed at Slalom (Seattle, WA)

      Interview

Not too difficult. All questions were what you would expect. A few rounds with the hiring manager, and others from the team / umbrella which included a case study. The prompt was given with a few different options and fairly simple to deliver.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom in Oct 2024

      Interview

Four separate 30 minute interviews. Each with a different individual. Each interview was supposed to be focused on one thing like culture or technical skills, but in reality the interviewers did what they wanted.

      Interview

Very friendly, multiple screeners with people in the local office (over zoom). They'll ask about any consulting experience, but mostly want to get to know you as a person. Just be yourself.
