I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Social Security Administration (San Diego, CA) in Jul 2015
Interview
I was called for my first interview from a private number. The interview was standard and not unlike a common interview and lasted about 30 minutes. They then called me for a second interview a week later. The second interview was at a different office with 3 area managers, the interview was more detailed and lasted about an hour. It was a 3 panel interview and quite intense. At the end they looked at each other and excused themselves for about 15 minutes. They came back with instructions for a background check and fingerprinting. After about 2 months of waiting, I gave up. But they called me out of nowhere at the end of the (government) fiscal year and asked me to start the last monday of september.
