Phone screening with the recruiter as the first step - this was about a 30 minute phone call. Then big interview with hiring manager and recruiter that was about an hour long. Then I received a preliminary offer by phone and was asked to fill out info for background check and did drug test. After doing all that, I received the final offer.

The interview process was relatively easy and quick. I had a 30-minute interview with HR and was notified in two days that I was invited to an in-person interview. I didn't have much of a choice on the day of the interview, but it worked out with my schedule. The interviewers were nice and made me feel at ease. Questions weren't too hard, more informal interview (Q&A) than an actual test of skills. HR was presented in the interview, which is a first that I've seen. Overall, interview went well. Received notification that I did not receive the job offer about 4 business days. HR gave a high-level explanation that there was a candidate that was better aligned for the position and offered to have a follow up for additional feedback. One thing I did notice is that the hiring manager kept saying that they were a budget airline (which of course I knew). So, this left me wondering if the final decision was based on salary as I had requested the top of the pay scale but had all of the preferred requirements and experience. A lot of companies these days are overlooking great candidates over pay. Hope this wasn't the case but if it was, let this be feedback to employers to be transparent about pay and at least give the opportunity to perspective employees if they can meet in the middle.
