I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX (Cape Canaveral, FL) in Feb 2022
Interview
-Phone screen with recruiter. Some technical and behavioral questions
-Phone interview with hiring manager. Technical questions & details about position, role & expectations. I think I just scraped by so got an extra step:
-'Test Interview' where I had 2 hours to complete technical question set directly relating to role (recovery), which did not have exact solution, rather were testing for comprehension of multiple problems & ability to quickly obtain solution
-In-person interview @ Cape Canaveral. Brief technical test (making sure you took the prior assessments), then panel presentation & technical questions. This was the most uncomfortable, since I was asked questions in ways that were not standard or related to my field or the position. Panel interview followed up by tour of facilities (best part of the whole process)
After all of these interviews (nearly 10 hours with employees across all of them), I was given a generic rejection response :(

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX (Daytona Beach, FL) in Nov 2019
Interview
It was an unusual process because the interviewers asked very few questions of me. Instead they asked me which questions I had for them about the position. I was interviewed 3 times, first by a senior manager, second by a selection of the team members, and final as a technical presentation that I prepared showing a project that I worked on.
