It went as everyone has said, the waiting in line, I got there at 5:30 am, I was like 5th in line and then about 7am they start to check your invitation and passport and have you get check in, they ask you about the base you want, and give you a color and #. And then you went and sat down. They did the presentation, then you went to separate rooms that matched your color. You need to listen, I repeat listen to the steps they tell you how to do it. They said you state, name, #, read card put down card and answer. So many people didn't make it bc they didn't follow steps of forgot to give number. After everyone answer the fishbowl questions, they stepped out and then called the #s, if they called you, you didn't make the cut. I made it to the F2F, first off, the suit case is about 70lbs not 50lbs like they said, even the recruiter had a hard time to lift it, she tried but quickly put it down and explained to me how to do it. I was able to do it, but it wasn't 50lbs, so ignorant on their part.
But anyways, it was going good for me. I was laughing with the FAs and recruiters, literally getting along with them, joking with them, even the main one, who did most of the talking. They were hoping I'll get it. And I was confident too. So back to the f2f, after I lifted the suitcase, they had me read the announcement. They loved how I didn't have to stop and think to fill in the blanks and they said I was a pro, and they loved my southern accent. They were both looking at each other smiling. Then they said "tell us about your self" I said who I was, where I was from, and I'm a mom (at this part it was like someone had slap the smiles off their faces) and that I'm good with customers, customer focused etc.. then at this point I could feel the vibes went downhill. And then they asked me ONE question. It went like this " why spirit, why not delta or American, I don't get it, why pick us" Shawn said this so rudely, with his head on his hands. I basically made them seem better to why I picked them, which they aren't. So after I got done answering the question, they said "okay that's it, go to the room next door pass the water fountain" I said "that's it, just one??" And they said yes, we have no more for you. So as I was getting up, the guy looks at me and goes " mothers come into this field of work, and realize that this isn't for them, bc they will miss their kids" and I told him, that I've been researching this for a year and my husband and kids are supportive of me and willing to relocate to Dallas, and that there are many moms who are FAs. He looked at me and said "okay". So I'm waiting in the decision room for an hour before they called my name and I knew it, I knew I didn't make it. But what I did notice is there is a woman that is in there and she will have her phone out and it goes off. It's the people who are interviewing, letting her know who stays and who goes. I noticed the pink highlighter meant you're safe, the blue highlighter you were out. They called out 8 ppl every 3 mins, 2 groups before me got called out in blue highlighter and they didn't make it. But everyone I found out that didn't make it, was a mom, who a previous FA. So whatever you do DO NOT MENTION YOURRE A MOM!!!!!!!!!!!! So I left the next day and the FAs saw me at the airport that were there and they wondered if I made it, I told them what happened and they knew as soon as I said mom, I wouldn't they told me next time, don't say it. Also told me they don't like to hire previous FAs. This came from spirit FAs themselves. Just pray and hope you don't get Shawn, he don't smile, he his so monotone, and doesn't look like a happy person. He literally cut anyone he interviewed apparently. I don't see why someone like him is even there. I thought you were supposed to be a happy smiling person?! But I did have a good time there and met wonderful people. I was almost there until I said mom. It was no coincidence that the other moms didn't make the cut and the old people.
