The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Spirit Airlines (Las Vegas, NV) in Apr 2012
Interview
I attended an open invitation open house at the Flamingo in Las Vegas Nevada. Some applicants did apply online and get an invitation although those people received no special attention or preference. if you have a choice of a morning or afternoon interview, go with the morning sp that the whole process will be done with quicker ( and therefore less expensive if you traveled like I did). I flew in from Washington DC and they provided no compensation for this. Right now they are trying to fill up their new LAS base.
In my 2 PM interview there were about 60 or so people, all given a number to be identified by and the door closed promptly at 2! We were asked to stand up, say our number (if you did not you were automatically not considered) state why Spirit Airlines and why they should want us. They allocated 30 seconds per person. i spoke to the room but definitely made eye contact with the board of 4 people.
In about 30 minutes they invited us all back into the room once they were done deliberating. About 13 of us were asked back for a panel interview, THE NEXT DAY. On a Friday night in Vegas it was SUPER expensive to get a hotel room, but I did it anyway with price line. my interview was at 11 AM the following day with 5 other people. All of us were young and attractive. This interview was much more personable, We were asked to read an announcement, followed by mandatory applause. Then asked a simple question by one of the two women and expected to keep a conversational interview going for abut 3 minutes before they thanked you and moved onto the next person. They dismissed themselves and 5 minutes late asked 3 people to step out leaving 3 of us in the room. She came back in and congratulated us on being accepted. She did say that they liked that we all wanted to relocate to Vegas or already lived there. We been our paperwork and were sent to find our own way to a drug testing location about 15 minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip. Our class was slated to begin 2 weeks after the interview!
