- Hiring manager approached me LI months before the Req approved, sighting highly relevant experience.
- We chatted to find a fit and a few weeks later Req got approved - I was asked to apply.
- Recruiter connected with me and setup 4 Panel interviews (incl. another round with the manager). Panel members shared they have been asked to rush the feedback and interviews felt very transactional (not even a single interviewer asked me to share more about me - we jumped straight into questions).
- 2 days after my Panel, the Manager, updated me we have more candidates to review and will let you know when a decision is made.
- 4 days later Recruiter shared "team enjoyed the discussions" and we "hope" to be at decision next week.
- No update came after 1.5 weeks, so I sent a note. 15 days after pass and I hear from the manager - we are short on recruiters and finding interviewer capacity and have more interviews to complete - "if there are any next steps for you we will let you know next week."
- 1.5 Week later, Recruiter sent me a note - "We want you to do 1 final interview" (NOTE - its now 1+ month since my "supposedly" Final interviews wrapped up)
- I ask the recruiter what competency is this round assessing that wasn't already assessed, if you could share I can prepare better.
- Recruiter never clarified this part, but shared we "hope" to be at decision end of next week and after trying to re-clarify the competency being covered, that coordinator or recruiter, never reached out for this final round.
- 3 weeks later I saw my application as closed in their system.
CONCLUSION - Nearly 3 months of working with this team for a role I was approached for and after telling me "discussions went well" and "we hope be at decision" (multiple times), the team did not take the time to share their decision.
PS - Earlier in my career, I worked at Splunk / Cisco and have multiple ex-colleagues as strong references (incl. a leader I supported in a similar exactly role at another company).
