Did a test online. That was pretty challenging. It's a rapid IQ test. My scores came out average mainly because I couldn't complete the questions on time (there really is not much time given at all, it doesn't feel like enough to give a fair account of yourself)
Then I had a phone screen with a recruiter based in the UK. The recruiter made no attempt to build rapport with me or entertain it when I was trying to build rapport with her. When she was asking me questions she would start every question with "I suppose".
The 15th time you hear someone asking an assumptive question, it gets kind of annoying, and reflects badly on Spotify.
I have a great CV with a track record of achievements behind me, and a ton of highly relevant experience for the roles they were advertising, but I never got the impression she really got it or had properly read my CV. I felt I was able to give solid answers to her questions, full of great relevant examples that demonstrated success and proactivity, but she wasn't really listening. This was frustrating.
Responded a few weeks later with a generic rejection email. No response given when I emailed back asking for extra feedback. I thought it was a shame because they had several vacancies I'd be an excellent candidate for, and I love the company, but to not get any feedback whatsoever was disappointing and it leaves me uncertain about whether it's worth me applying to them again in future.
My advice to Spotify is if you're recruiting recruiters, and using a third party (Elements) to be part of the vetting process, make sure you've got someone who is a great recruiter, rather than an average one. I wasn't at all impressed with the experience.
