I applied online. In a week I received an invitation to talk with a recruiter over a phone. The phone screening went really well, which led to a screening call with a hiring manager in a couple of days ....
The screening didn't go well ..... First of all, in my opinion hiring managers need serious training on how to formulate interview questions (especially when it is a phone interview). The hiring manager asked me a technical question without providing any details, the question was more like a case study, which required time and enough details to come up with a constructive response. I guess the hiring manager assumed that I already work for Spotify and know about everything what's happening within the company ....
So I had to ask for clarification and more details ..... eventually the hiring manager's response was that he doesn't know how to answer the question either (really?!).
I got a feedback from the recruiter in a couple of days that the hiring manager decided to move on with other candidates ....
