      Life Science Research Professional Interview

      Mar 31, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Stanford, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Stanford University (Stanford, CA)

      Interview

Had a phone interview, was then called in for an in-person interview. During my interview, I was notified that I would NOT be performing the vast majority of the duties listed on the job description and required specific qualifications not mentioned on the description and did NOT require the qualifications listed on the description. Two weeks of silence and I was notified that they preferred to hire internally. The next day, I saw THREE new listings from the same lab, with the same misleading job title and job description. The specialty work done by this lab does NOT fit the description of Life Science Research Professional or Research Personnel, nor does it fit the additional non-generic duties and perks listed by the job listing. Very unprofessional conduct from such a prestigious institution.

Principal Investigator was courteous and provided extensive knowledge regarding their research background and their interests as a mentor, Related my current skillset to what the lab was looking for, and answered some generic interview questions.
