I interviewed for the LXD position at Stanford GSB. It was a deceitful process from the start. The recruiter presented himself as a "business guy" and not a recruiter. The hiring manager appeared insecure and uncomfortable during the 1:1 interview. I am a woman of color with advanced degrees and can sense prejudice in such interactions. Both recruiter and hiring manager repeated ad nauseaum that Stanford "hired for the long term" and kept buying time by saying that their "hiring process has been delayed". It took me a few weeks to realize they were not being honest. There was no talk of compensation and benefits. I received the ofiicial rejection after more than 3 months. In comparison, my private sector interviews at banks and tech companies were transparent, efficient, and respectful.
