HR phone screening and in person interview with different members of the organization. Mostly behavioral based questions were asked with a few questions about technical skills and experience with different programs.
Straight to the point, One phone interview and then meeting with the managers. Sometimes a third interview with some associates is needed to complete the interview process. Be prepared to answer some technical questions.

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Staples in Oct 2009
Interview
It was basically 'go through resume' process. 1:1 on campus interview.
Since staples geared to the finance services, the interview questions was mainly based on the behavior questions, such as what kind of conflict have you got during the internship and how did you solve it?
Since it was the campus interview, they also asked me why you choose your majors and why you choose your current university. It was not an intimidating conversation, more informal, yet very informative.
The interview gave me lots of information of the company's current finance system, and less questions towards to me.
For the best preparation for the staples finance department, maybe go through the details of the resume, and prepare some sample questions (ie. behavior questions) also asking many questions as possible about the current company's available position
