It started with a 30 minute call with the recruiter. It went really well and scheduled the interview with the hiring manager in the next week. The interview was in-person at their Headquarters. The interview went extremely well and I was told I am the strongest candidate out of only 2 people. During the interview, the hiring manager told me that she had been trying to get leadership to approve hiring for this position for 5 months.
I then was emailed that I would be doing a final interview in a week. The day before the interview, I was emailed that the interview needed to be rescheduled. After a few days, I received another email that they were not going to fill the position as a business decision.
It is NOT a business decision when you start to interview people and then pull back completely. That is a "personal" decision. Their needs to be accountability for companies like this because people deserve better treatment. It should be illegal to start interviewing and then not follow through with hiring.
