I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks (Kansas City, MO) in Jul 2025
Interview
I interviewed with the store manager & the assistant manager. I applied online then followed up with a phone call which landed me an interview the following week. Both managers were pleasant. Their primary interest, other than availability, was customer service. They asked about teamwork, maintaining standards & working efficiently under pressure, It lasted maybe 40 mins: I was contacted 2 hours later asking to schedule a second interview the following week. That one asked more “tell me about a time…” questions & only lasted about 20 minutes. All of the hiring staff were easy to talk to & friendly. I am still waiting for a start-date.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you went above & beyond a customer’s expectations, & how they responded.

Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
