I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at State Farm (Miami, FL) in Jan 2015
Interview
First I was contacted by phone by the agents, we spoke on the phone for about an hour with the agent telling me about the company and the positions that are available. The same day I went to the office for an interview with the office manager. I sent a follow-up email thanking them for the time and opportunity for the interviews a day or two later.
About three days after I sent my email I got another email asking me to come in for a second in person interview with the actual agent which went very well, and about a week after that I was offered a position and asked to choose my start date.
I applied online. I interviewed at State Farm (Dagsboro, DE) in Feb 2026
Interview
Owner was highly knowledgeable and thoughtful. Explained everything clearly and reviewed everything thoroughly on the job description. Base salary and bonus/commission was the only questionable issue. Expect a phone call in one week with offer.

Interview
Alison Fourtner agency. Interview consisted of owner's husband describing job duties and asking if that sounded acceptable. He asked a few questions and did not probe further when I basically did not answer them. ("Why do you want to work in insurance?" "[.....] to get into insurance.")
First, I had a phone screening, where I was told a scheduler would reach out to schedule an in-person meeting for the following week. The scheduler never reached out, so I followed up with my point of contact and had an in-person interview the following week.
