      Senior Field Inventory Manager Interview

      Nov 17, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Houston, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Stryker (Houston, TX) in Oct 2023

      Interview

I was referred to apply to this company by someone who also works an inventory role here. I applied online and got a response within a few days. The first interview was a phone screen and of course with any interview, speaking with an HR manager is the easy going, good part and she was transparent of the starting pay and benefits. I was smoothly and quickly passed along with a second interview within a week with the Hiring Manager of this job role. In my opinion, 30 minutes is not enough time to really discuss someone’s skills and knowledge. Although he was nice and I just felt he was only asking behavioral questions like 'give me a example of a time when....' type of questions instead of asking me my knowledge, my capabilities and past experiences to be able prove my strengths in this position. I felt like it was a curve ball and it made me nervous and rushed, I didn't feel engaged in the conversation. I felt these questions were questions that needed to be well thought out than to be asked on the spot like that. While I was waiting to get a response to see if I would be able to go the next round of an interview, I read other peoples reviews of the job process and it seemed like a nightmare because you could go through all those rounds of interviews of trying to sell yourself and get rejected or ghosted and will cling onto it and miss out other better opportunities. I got a rejection letter about a week later that I didn't fit their requirements. Also, I didn't know I had to use my car to travel to different job sites and he said I would be reimbursed but that needs to be noted in the job description! Thats mileage on my car and I do not know how frequent that would be. I don't think I will apply to any other jobs in the future, I understand the job market is shaky and competitive but it just seems kind of degrading and discriminatory to disqualify someone of their personality traits. And the job process is too excessive.
