The interview day was conducted in a group setting. Several other teachers were there applying for jobs in different disciplines. We sat and listened to a presentation about classroom management, transitioned to another room to perform class management examples with other interviewees, and then did a written class-management essay followed by a one-on-one interview. I was very surprised receiving an official offer about 3-4 days later because I never officially taught a class in my discipline. I am well-versed in class management tools so that was not difficult during the interview process. However, I was taken in an uncomfortable way that others might have been hired too that did not demonstrate proficiency in their discipline.
