I applied online. I interviewed at Success Academy Charter Schools (New York, NY) in Jun 2020
Interview
First, I had a phone interview. It was a relatively quick call where she asked typical questions about your experience and weirdly a lot of specific questions about organization. I was pretty unprepared for this interview and thought I bombed it but I moved to the next round which was a video call (not sure if it's normally in person; this was during COVID). The second interview required me to prepare an example of myself giving students instructions for an activity (which was outlined to me in an email beforehand) which was sort of awkward. It was a lot of questions about what I knew about their particular teaching style as well as similar, general questions like the first round.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Give an example of a time where you overcame a challenge in the workplace?
A lot about willingness to discipline, how you grew up, adaptability, etc. Also stuff on what my educational experience was like (strict or not strict)? Also mock roleplay about disciplining a kid

I received a random message on LinkedIn from a recruiter. We had a call where they went over interview prep and scheduled the meeting. They asked pretty standard questions. Teaching experience, why teaching and why this specific academy, a time where you dealt with a difficult situation or person, how do you take constructive criticism then a simulated situation where they give you a scenario about ‘difficult’ parents and kids.

Interview
The interview is done very quickly, and the questions are to the point. The interviewee should try to answer in a short, precise manner. Confidence is essential for the interview.
