I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Superhuman (Scottsdale, AZ) in Dec 2021
Interview
The recruiter I was assigned after applying should not be allowed to interview for management positions. This recruiter admitted to not having read my cover letter and missed a key qualifying job experience on my resume. This recruiter was unable to speak to salary bands or compensation and stumbled when asked why the hiring manager would or would not have interest in continuing the conversation.
Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience. This company interviews candidates as a 20 person start up would, ie. without transparency into their process or any formal steps in the interview process. I have seen this role open for 2 months online and I'm truly not sure what they are doing.
Ultimately, I received 2 competing offers for the same role at different companies and I am happy Grammarly passed on me as it is clear they are struggling!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
"I know you interviewed for a Director role but I have an individual contributor role I want to talk to you about"
My interview process started early May and wrapped mid-July.
Recruiter screen > Hiring Manager screen > series of 1:1 meetings with cross-functional leaders > CRO 1:1 > recap with Hiring Manager
The conversations were all engaging and well-structured, with mostly the Grammarly team asking questions and leaving time for candidate Q&A. Throughout the process, it was clear that the Grammarly team is talented, intelligent, and focused on bringing culture-builders to the company. It was a very thoughtful process and I'm super impressed by the level of care they have in hiring leaders to the org.

Question 1
Questions mostly centered around experience with common topics related to CS and cross-functional teams. Nothing was surprising or a "curveball".
