The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Sutter Health (Roseville, CA) in Oct 2011
Interview
The interview was for a per diem RN position on the medical/surgical unit. There were 2 managers that interviewed me. It was my first RN interview and I was not prepared for it, so I did not get a job offer. Here are some of the questions they asked me.
-Describe a situation when you had to have a difficult conversation with a patient.
-Was there ever a time when you had to report another student or staff member? Why?
-Describe a situation when you went "above and beyond."
-Describe a situation when you conspired with another student to do something without telling anyone else.
-Tell us about a time when you had to deal with a conflict between you and another team member.
I wish I could think of more. It felt like they asked me 20 questions like these. It was horrible! The manager who I met had not even read my resume before I walked in, her phone was going off while I was in there and she was texting someone. It was so rude. Look up behavioral interview questions if you are interviewing at Sutter. GOOD LUCK!

Question 1
Describe a situation when you went above and beyond.
They went on an initial phone call and asked why I wanted to work for sutter. Then they talked about my experience and asked about what experience I have. They got to know a little about me and why nursing
The panel interview process is extremely intimidating. There are approximately 8 staff including, manager, assistant manager, and other nurses from the department. The manager asks most of the questions, while the other staff judge your answers.
Quick and simple. The manager called and I interviewed on zoom with them and a charge nurse. Called by HR within the hour to offer job. Good, easy experience. Expected questions.
