      Passenger Service Agent Interview

      Jan 28, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Boston, MA
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Swissport (Boston, MA) in Mar 2016

      Interview

I showed up to be interviewed by one airline and was intercepted by another airline at my interview because they were so desperate for staff. I had to text the supervisor because I could not understand her on the phone I had to go take a drug test which was unsupervised in a different city and Then has to take a 6 hour class at their headquarters. In the airport I had to get fingerprinted by the state police and get a security badge and needed proof of citizenship and an ID and to pass a test to get those but was not informed of that when I was brought in 4 hours before my shift so I had to come back hours before my shift 3xs to get things straightened out. I also had to take a series of tests which were probably about 3 to 5 hours in total before being hired had to take another series of tests that we were not informed about beforehand after being hired and had we failed those tests or got lower than 80% we would have lost our jobs (ie, hazardous materials) but the Lufthansa staff helps you cheat so you don’t lose your job.

      Interview

I would not recommend working here. My experience from hiring to onboarding was very poor and felt extremely rushed, which raised concerns about the company’s level of organization. I initially spoke with an interviewer on Friday, who scheduled me to meet with the hiring manager on Monday. When I arrived, there was a group of candidates and a short wait before we were seen. The hiring manager asked me a brief question about why I wanted to work there and then immediately told me I was hired. The onboarding process was conducted in a group setting with everyone at the same time. Afterward, I was instructed to complete a drug test and obtain a badge, all within a very short timeframe. The entire process was completed within just a few hours, which felt disorganized and impersonal. When I asked questions during the process, staff were unable to provide clear answers. After my training was scheduled, I reached out to both the training manager and HR via email but received no response. I even went to the office in person, where the front desk staff appeared very disorganized—taking notes on a napkin, which did not inspire confidence. Overall, the lack of communication, structure, and professionalism made this a frustrating experience.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Swissport (Sydney)

      Interview

The interview process consisted of two stages. First, we participated in a group interview where we were given activities to complete as a team. We then presented our work to the interviewers, who assessed our skills based on how we performed during the activity, including teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Following this, we had a one-on-one interview where we were asked individual questions and had the opportunity to discuss our experience and suitability for the role in more detail.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

One of the questions they asked me during the one-on-one interview was about my availability, including the days and hours I was able to work.
