      Design/Sales Consultant Interview

      Apr 23, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Union City, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at System Pavers (Union City, CA) in Apr 2018

      Interview

I applied online, was reached by phone to set up appointment with a sales manager. An email was sent to confirm appointment and also remind me to dress professionally. Really are we 12? I found this a bit insulting, how else do you show up for an interview. Should have known that was a very bad sign, should have cancelled interview right then! I get there for my interview and the receptionist says no, I'm sorry we don't have you scheduled for an interview today it's tomorrow. I advised her the date/time were changed to today. She then attempted to put me in front of a computer for 25 minutes to watch a video. I asked if I could watch video later and interview now. Well, you can imagine how that went down, I'm sure that was the beginning to end of the interview. I really did not care. I was so put off already by this company. I was also told we are expected to drive over 3500 miles a month. Really, do these sales people live in their cars? I'm sure they were just trying to scare me into not moving forward with application. I believe in working smart, not stupid. No, thank you! I have been in sales for many years always on commission. I'm not afraid to work hard, but think working hard and smart is better. Okay, good luck! You get the picture!

Nothing was asked, only had me ask questions, very one sided

Our recruiters strive hard to make every candidate’s experience a good one. We are sorry that did not happen for you. As this does not happen very often, we do remember you and can tell you that unfortunately a new employee was helping out with scheduling so there was some confusion with your interview date. We apologize for that confusion but was trying to accommodate as best as we could. I would like to address your comment on our email confirmation stating to “dress professionally”. We have many candidates ask what the dress code is so we put that in there to help. We like to hear from our candidates good or bad so thank you for your comments, it only helps us get better. We wish you the best in your job search.
