I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at T-Mobile (Oakland, ME) in Apr 2015
Interview
I applied online in early March. I completed a long, very redundant series of assessments and received a call from a recruiter in VA 3 days later. I was invited to set up an initial phone interview, which I did, and that was brief but went well. Phone interview was basically an informational session that ended with the recruiter asking to set me up with a face to face interview. I went to that interview a few weeks later and really enjoyed the experience. My interviewer was easy to connect with and I felt that it was a very good interview, one of the best I've had.
I was told that I would receive a request for a background screening and that it would take about a week so they would call me with an offer if everything checked out okay. I got the email 5 days after my interview and submitted the background info right away. It is now more than two weeks and I have not heard from anyone at the company at all. I sent a very brief email request three days ago for a status update and that email was ignored. I have never failed a background check nor do I have anything in my background that would be cause for concern. I consider myself an excellent candidate with years of experience in the industry, an opinion that was mirrored by my interviewer. I have no idea why they would pass on someone of my caliber and experience or even why they would simply ignore a request to be updated on where they are in the process. Sadly, I found other reviews of this company very helpful and very encouraging but I did not have the same experience in the end.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when a company made a major policy change that you disagreed with. Why do you want to work for this company? Tell me about a time when you made a mistake. How did you handle it and what did you learn from it?
It’s a grueling process. Do several interviews before you go in for an actual interview. It’s more like a mixer. Meet a variety of people then do a one on one.
The interview went well, but when they asked about my desired length of stay, I explained that I wanted to stay for a considerable time, but still launch or perhaps grow the company. The interviewer then went on a rant about how they thought they would only stay at this job for a short while, and their enthusiasm seemed to wane.
After completing a phone interview there was an in person interview. There were two people doing the interview one person asked the questions the other took notes. It didn't last long and they were very nice.
