I went to a TJ Maxx Job Fair last Tuesday with my sister. We greeted a man, who asked us to fill out applications in a pretty room with refreshments. Because we came near the end of the fair, there was only one other person applying there. Once we handed him our applications, he gave them each to a different hiring manager, who brought us into a room to be interviewed.
The woman that interviewed me was very nice; she joked with me and asked me if I was nervous. She made me feel really comfortable. She asked things like "What does customer service mean to you?", and answered all the questions I had about the job. She explained the dress code to me, told me that since they're opening a new store they're over-hiring, talked about what they're looking for, as well as gave me information about orientation, and a letter from the general manager explaining how if I'm selected I'll receive an offer within two weeks.
This was my first job interview ever, and it was so much easier than I expected it would be. I hope I'll get a call!
