I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tanium in Dec 2021
Interview
The interview process was transparent, fair, and enjoyable. The personnel interviewing me were well prepared for the interview. The Tanium team was friendly, courteous and receptive to courtesy. The interview process gave me a glimpse into Tanium's impressive, team-first corporate culture.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Tanium (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2022
Interview
For a company that describes itself as a leader in integrity and "We Do The Right Thing" as its mantra, they don't show respect for potential candidates. Over 2 months I went through 6 interviews which were all very positive with feedback that I was one of the strongest candidates. However, the last interview is a panel exercise. They ask you to spend anywhere from 40 - to 100 hours preparing for a presentation that is heavily based on their specific technology and real-world scenarios (which means that the study for preparation is intense while not being guaranteed a position or payment at the end.) After all of your hard work and building a presentation that could be anywhere from 40 - 60 pages (1 hour) they don't explain that you are entering a panel that is in in-role, playing difficult, rude, disruptive clients. It's confusing for candidates and is a bad practice for interviewing. I was stopped at the beginning of my presentation and continuously attacked with rude aggression. It was the strangest experience I've ever gone through in my 20+ year career. I spent hundreds of hours and never got to present my presentation. Then I was ghosted and treated with apathy. Very strange.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
During the opening of my presentation (which they scripted to be a company intro presentation) I was interrupted and a panel member said "Platform, platform, platform. Yes, we get it. Everyone talks about the platform. You have a client who has 60k endpoints and has only deployed half. Your renewal is due in 90 days. They aren't deploying just because...departments are being lazy or for political reasons. Where's the value?! What are you going to do?!"
