I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Feb 2012
Interview
I applied online for a ETL position in my local area. I received a call from an HR Rep within a week. I was asked about experience and then was asked five typical STAR questions and then was told that I would hear back from them about further steps. I had to then take the online IQ test and Target leadership questions. I had two or three other HR calls and a series of emails from two different HR Reps. I finally received a time and location for face-to-face interviews. I was then told to go to a different location 48 hours before the interviews.
I arrived early and met with a Store Manager and had a great interview with the typical questions asking about "A time when... " and how I handled it. This was fine and there was a good connection and I got very positive feedback. He then rushed me into another interview with a District Manager and again I was asked about my prior experiences and another set of five questions. This interview was more difficult and although I was not prepared for two of the questions from my study of this site, I think the interview went well overall.
I was then asked to informally speak to another Store Manager who happened to also be from my local area. It was quick and went fine again, although I was mentally exhausted from the first two..
I left with a very positive feeling and thought I would receive some type of response quickly.
Exactly one week later I got "the email." "Thanks but we are pursuing other candidates."
I was actually very surprised and left feeling very frustrated because you get zero feedback or explanation.
My take is that the interviews went very well and although this was experience to move forward in my job search, the process is almost useless if you do not get the job because of the lack of feedback. Overall frustrating....This was a long process and it was approx. five weeks of back and forth and then a long drive to the interview location on top of it.

Question 1
What do you think would make you a good fit for this role?
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)
Interview
It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
