I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Loveland, CO) in Nov 2009
Interview
The process started a little strangely, I went in to interview for an hourly seasonal position, and after two interviews with team members, I was asked to stay and talk with two managers about the ETL position due to my degree and experience. All four interviews that day were fairly straightforward, the first two were simple behavioral question based (these were for the hourly job) and the second two were more difficult, very similar to engineering interviews. Each interview was about 30-45 minutes long with about 10 minutes between them, and they were all one on one. After the interviews I was asked to apply for the position online, which I did later that day. I was then asked to complete a skills/personality test, which was surprisingly difficult and very logic and math based. It took around an hour and required a good amount of time and thought. This was all about two weeks ago and I got a call today to schedule an interview with a district manager, which is a week away. I'll report back on that after it's done.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)
Interview
It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
