I applied online. I interviewed at Target (Boulder, CO) in Nov 2020
Interview
Not bad, didn't stay long, got the job immediately. I was wearing a suit. The suit was the same suit that I wore to one of my sibling's weddings. I was visited by three associates, which I over-examined the Dickensian nature of that number, three visitors. Such a lovely perspective to see what's behind these stone mason walls for which I walked many a-time as a customer, yet never as a potential employee. The questions, they came, and I answered them with sincere honesty and ease. Each manger that I spoke with evoked a certain level of professionalism that I admired, though slightly marred by the consumerist ennui that was apparent.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What would you do if you saw a spill? Have you ever taken money from a cash register? Etc. I tried to flip the question back on them by asking about the conceptual design of their then-newly refurbished shopping carts, with their chamfered edges and clothes hanger slots situated in the front handle.
Was just a quick 10 minute call from the store manager, didn't take long at all. He asked if I had the availability he was looking for and if I could be punctual. Smooth process
It was overall very brief from applying to hearing back. Was just a day of meeting with a couple managers and talking through a cashier job. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a role like this.
It was interesting. Not hard at all, straightforward, and pretty open people. It was an okay interview and what you’d typically expect. So don’t stress stress it, I mean kinda try your best
