      Executive Team Leader Interview

      Oct 3, 2010
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Minneapolis, MN
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Minneapolis, MN) in Sep 2010

      Interview

I interview for the ETL position in September 2010. It all started out with a network name that sent my name to a recruiter. About a day later, I got an email requesting a phone interview. Her communication was excellent and I was very impressed. I set up the phone interview, and the Store Team Leader called me and interviewed for 30 minutes. This was rather difficult, as I had never done a phone interview before. A day later, I got an email stating I had passed that interview, and I needed to take an assessment and have two more interviews. I took the assessment with consisted of personality based questions, reading and math, and situational based questions. (Think ACT type questions). Before I took that I set up the two interviews (so I do not know if the assessment booted me out of the process and no matter how the interviews went, I was screwed). This is where it rook a bit of a downturn. I arrived a few minutes early, but the District Team Leader was running late. No big deal. His interview was rather easy and I thought it went very well. The second interview I was supposed to be with a HR Manager. However, I was told she couldn't make it, so a Store Team Leader would be interviewing me. He was 20 minutes late. He showed up and said "Guess I'm interviewing you today!" which right off the bat rose red flags for me. We sat down and proceeded to build rapport. He swore once or twice, which immediately I lost respect for this entire process. I could tell he didn't want to be there and he wasn't taking this seriously. He asked relatively few follow up questions and only lasted 15 minutes. I was very unimpressed with the professionalism that was presented. Overall, the beginning seemed promising and everyone I talked to was helpful, friendly, and professional. But the last step was what really disappointed me for being such a reputable company.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)

      Interview

It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
